RULES

The World Music Masters are held annually in June in Monte Carlo. Each year, the Masters is devoted to one of three disciplines – piano, violin or voice.

The competition is reserved exclusively for finalists of international competitions. All countries and nationalities are eligible for entry. The age limit is 40. There is a single prize of €30,000 – the Prince Rainier III of Monaco Prize.

All rounds will be recorded live and the competition reserves the right to broadcast or re-broadcast the sound and image recordings of the competition without the competitor’s permission.

Competitors must wear concert dress (dress suit or formal evening wear for men and cocktail or evening gown for women).

The winner will give a presentation concert at the Salle Gaveau for which they will not receive a fee, although travel, food and accommodation expenses will be paid.

The competition organizers will inform competitors of the date upon which they should present themselves in Monte Carlo. Accommodation will be provided by the competition. Travel expenses must be paid for by the competitor, although a flat fee of €400 will be paid to competitors who make it through to the semi-finals. They will then be provided with accommodation until the end of the competition if they so wish.
Violinists and singers may bring their own accompanist, or an accompanist can be provided by the competition. In the latter case, competitors must send their scores to the competition organizer once their entry has been approved.

Candidates eliminated at any stage of the competition may enter the following competition.
However, any entrant who does not pass through to a higher round after two attempts may not enter the competition again. Lots will be drawn the evening before the competition.
